The 8,500 square foot Emergency Department Expansion Project required extensive planning, leading to the relocation of the Chapel, reconfiguration of the existing blood lab, and relocation of the ED patient registration area in order to free up contiguous space for new Behavioral Health and Rapid Medical Evaluation pods as expansion of the existing Emergency Department. New welcome desks at the hospital main entrance and ED patient registration greet and orient visitors. Additional ED registration stations improve flow and reduce ED wait times. The new location of the Chapel, opening onto the atrium, strengthens the hospital's connection to its mission. Reconfiguration of the blood lab waiting and registration areas improves the patient experience. The heart of the project, additions of Behavioral Health and Rapid Medical Evaluation pods, align the hospital's capacity with current patient needs.
