Town Hall Masonry
Amherst, MA
The Amherst Town Hall is a turn-of-the-century, Richardsonian-Romanesque structure featuring corbelled, ashlar masonry and sympathetic brick detailing befitting the building's presence on the Town Common. Architects Inc. began a work history associated with the repair of the building envelope, through a limited masonry repair and extensive roofing repair project in 1993. In 2008, Architects Inc. completed a comprehensive masonry restoration, following National Parks Service Historic Preservation Briefs (and including spectrographic and chemical mortar analysis), at a project cost of $660,000.
